Module D : Professional Development Skills

Overview

The aim of the module is to enhance the employability of migrant/refugee women through transferable skills, knowledge, understanding and personal attributes, in order to stimulate active participation in  the social, economical and cultural life in their host communities. The training aims to create the conditions of gaining an initial employment, maintain one or obtain a new one. During the module delivery, participants will become familiar with basic theoretical framework surrounding employability and will study the various factors involved in this procedure. As employability is considered central to the integration path, trainings that lead in acquiring new skills or rehabilitating old, remain part of a successful integration process.

 

Learning Outcomes

►Demonstrate financial skills, such as personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.

►Establish professional and personal relations with people from different professional, national and cultural backgrounds.

►Summarize education, skills and experience

►Utilize the Europass CV builder.

►Utilize various means to locate job vacancies or opportunities.

►Identify job opportunities.

►Prepare for the interview.

►Conduct research about the company/job position.

►Generate an interview checklist.

►Present one’s self confidently.

►Map out/design a profile of skills, qualifications, and work experiences with the help of an advisor.

►Think ahead

►Set future goals about what you want to do based on your interests and  the job you want to get.

►Assess employers’ priorities in the local labour market.
